Filling a Critical Gap in Resource Development
Lamal Partners was founded by Russell Lamming and Andrew Malashewsky — two industry professionals with decades of combined experience across mining, finance, and commodity trading. Recognizing a fundamental gap in how resource projects are structured, financed, and brought to market, they established Lamal to offer an integrated approach that combines strategic advisory, capital structuring, and hands-on execution.
We specialize in unlocking value for resource companies, particularly in Africa, where capital, commercial reach, and execution capability are often disconnected. We don’t operate as external advisors or passive investors — we integrate directly into projects, designing strategy, raising and deploying capital, and managing delivery with our own resources at risk and our compensation tied to performance.

Russell Lamming
Partner
Russell holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BCom in Economics from the University of Natal. With over 20 years of experience across geology, development, capital markets, and commodity trading, he has served as CEO of multiple AIM-listed mining companies. He has led exploration, development, and production-stage projects and executed numerous resource transactions across Africa and international markets.
At Lamal, Russell leads technical and development strategy. His ability to assess, structure, and advance assets across the project lifecycle ensures Lamal delivers value-focused outcomes. He works closely with management teams, boards, and investors — bridging technical understanding with commercial execution, transaction readiness, and long-term project performance.
Andrew Malashewsky
Partner
Andrew is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. His career spans mine development, project finance, and structured commodity trading, with deep experience in African markets. He has held senior financial and operational roles for public and private companies, overseeing exploration and development assets, M&A, capital programs, and physical trade transactions.
At Lamal, Andrew leads capital structuring, trade execution, and financial oversight. He combines transactional expertise with on-the-ground operational delivery — embedding into projects to manage liquidity, counterparties, and performance. His role ensures strategy, capital, and execution remain aligned across stakeholders and project stages.
